LO-IV-184H Daly is the left-most of this pair of craters to the northwest of Apollonius. The 16-km diameter crater on the right, which it overlies, is Apollonius F.

- Named for Reginald Aldworth Daly (1871-1957), a Canadian-born American geologist. Daly was an early proponent of the impact theory of the Moon's origin.
- This replacement name for a formerly lettered crater was introduced on LTO-62D2 (May, 1974), for which it served as the chart title. It is listed on that chart as "a new name approved by the IAU." Although Daly appears in the cumulative list of approved names in IAU Transactions XVB (1973), it is not clear precisely when and where it was approved, nor is the honoree explicitly designated.
