- Old Nameless is reportedly on the horizon in Hasselblad photo AS14-64-9152 (taken by the Apollo 14 astronauts from about 2.5 km away on the lunar surface).
- It can be seen even more clearly in the detail from the similar AS14-68-9425 reproduced in Figure 11 (p. 15) of Geological Survey Professional Paper 880.
Exploring Old Nameless
A list of Apollo 14's Hasselblad photographs on which Old Nameless was captured:
Color Hasselblads'':

B&W Hasselblads'':
- AS14-64-9117 LPI's low res, Kipp Teague's med res and high res. Pretty sharp look at Old Nameless (partially obscured by nearby horizon).
- AS14-64-9130 LPI's low res, Kipp Teague's med res. Old Nameless is out of focus, near the frame's upper margin.
- AS14-64-9131 LPI's low res, Kipp Teague's med res. Old Nameless is out of focus, near the frame's upper left corner.
- AS14-64-9152 LPI's low res, Kipp Teague's med res. Old Nameless is out of focus.

- AS14-68-9440 LPI's low res, Kipp Teague's med res and high res. Quite sharp look at Old Nameless, although the camera was moving a little bit.
- AS14-68-9486 LPI's low res, Kipp Teague's med res and high res. Quite sharp look at Old Nameless, with LM Antares and CDR Alan Shepard about "halfway".
- AS14-68-9487 LPI's low res, Kipp Teague's med res and high res. Almost the same view as in frame 9486, camera moved a little bit.

Additional Information
- Based on LTVT measurements of Lunar Orbiter image LO-III-133M, Old Nameless is 750 m in diam (not counting the extension to the north), and ~85 m deep.
- I wonder if it is possible to make telescopic Hi-Res webcam images of Old Nameless, shortly after local sunrise, or shortly before local sunset.- DannyCaes Dec 29, 2010
Nomenclature
Astronaut-named feature, Apollo 14 site.
- The IAU Planetary Gazetteer gives LAC 76 as the primary map reference for this name, but it does not appear on that map, nor is it labeled on any of the readily available maps (there is no LTO or Topophotomap of the Apollo 14 area, and Old Nameless is too far south to show in the Apollo 14 Site Traverses Chart. The present identification is based on Figure 7 (p. 11) of Geological Survey Professional Paper 880. It is also based on descriptions of it as being 1 km in diameter and about 2.5 km south of the Apollo 14 sampling sites on the flank of Cone crater. IAU Transactions XVIB describes Old Nameless only as a "crater with broken rim." The official IAU diameter is "O km" (a common designation for landing site names).
- Old Nameless should not to be confused with Apollo 15's Nameless, which is a small craterlet on The Plain near Rima Hadley.- DannyCaes Dec 26, 2010
