AS17-M-1501 Because the camera was to the south of this crater, its small flat bottom (which looks to be only about 1 km in diameter) is displaced from the center by perspective. The nearby rilles are part of Rimae Littrow.

Her sister, Ellen Mary Clerke (1840–1906), also wrote about astronomy.
- This replacement name for a formerly lettered crater was introduced on LTO-42C2 (for which it served as the chart title). It appears in the cumulative list of approved names in IAU Transactions XVB (1973). Since it does not appear in any prior IAU Transactions, it was probably approved at the 1973 meeting.
