Nearside Named Features

  • Antoniadi (a disallowed name from H.P.Wilkins for Hecataeus B).
  • Balmer
  • Balmer-Kapteyn Basin (an unofficial name) (see also Chart 49).
  • Barnard
  • Behaim
  • Catena Humboldt
  • Gibbs (note the high-albedo ray crater on the northeastern part of the rim of Gibbs).
  • Goris (this is a rather strange erroneous interpretation of Riccioli's nomenclature. Goris is part of the name Terra Vigoris, printed along the east-southeastern lunar limb region in Grimaldi's map, as: Terra Vi goris) (it is also seen as Goris on the lunar map made by J.Keill, see Figure 57 on page 89 of Whitaker's book).
  • Hecataeus
  • Holden (called Neison by C.Gaudibert).
  • Holden's dark halo crater (a nickname from D.Caes for the pronounced dark halo crater southeast of Holden).
  • Humboldt
  • Humboldt mountains (a disallowed name from T.G.Elger for a mountainous region near Humboldt).
  • Lamé
  • Legendre
  • Phillips
  • Raurich (a disallowed name from H.P.Wilkins for Hecataeus D).
  • Schorr
  • Smith (a disallowed name from H.P.Wilkins for Vendelinus C).
  • Terra Pacis (Van Langren's disallowed name for the whole of Chart 60).
  • Terra Vigoris (Riccioli's discontinued name for the whole of Chart 60) (see also the name Goris).
  • Vendelinus (Van Langren's Longevilli) (note: Zagut on Chart 67 was Van Langren's Longevalli).
  • Whitaker (a disallowed name from H.P.Wilkins for a crater southeast of Humboldt).

Farside Named Features

(The following features are not formally included in the present Rükl rectangle, but they are adjacent to it and their centers are less than 10° beyond the mean limb -- so they may be seen here in whole or in part with a favorable libration)
