LO-IV-191H The IAU's Dorsum Termier is the ridge running roughly between points “A” and “B” in this Lunar Orbiter view of the southern shore of Mare Crisium. The IAU name does not appear to include the ridges running to the north and west from point “B”. Other IAU-named features in this view include 23-km Shapley (in the hills at bottom center), and 22-km Picard (partially visible in the upper left).
Note the ghost crater immediately east of point "A".

Additional Information
- Dorsum Termier was among the many provisional dorsa names appearing on NASA’s LTO charts that were approved by the IAU “as now assigned and printed” (on those charts) in IAU Transactions XVIB. It is labeled only on LTO-62A3. The name is not printed on the adjoining LTO-62A1 and LTO-62A2 (which include the ridges extending to the north and west from point “B” in the Lunar Orbiter view). Hence those ridges do not appear to be included in the name.
- The position and diameter currently listed for Dorsum Termier in the on-line IAU Planetary Gazetteer (and repeated on the title line of this page) conform fairly well to the ridge between “A” and “B” in the Lunar Orbiter view.
- Rükl (in his Chart 38) identifies Dorsum Termier with a part of the ridge running north from what looks like a flooded crater just east of “A”, placing the name due west of Fahrenheit. The ridge labeled by Rükl is not named in the IAU system.
