Additional Information
- IAU page: Ley
- The large amount of deposits predominantly covering the south-western floor of Ley is believed to be that of its own rim material having been dynamically shifted, or blasted off, by the nearby impact event of crater Von Neumann to its southwest. This 'clump' of material must also include deposits from Von Neumann itself, and the whole mix must be a geologist's dream. - JohnMoore2 JohnMoore2

Nomenclature
- Named for Willy Ley (1906-1969), a German-American rocketry scientist, particularly noted for his popular books.
