Lallemand

Clementine - the crater is the bright rimmed one at bottom left.

Lallemand and its surroundings were photographed obliquely from the north using Earthshine for illumination in Apollo 17 handheld photos AS17-158-23901, 23902 and 23903, which were used to produce the Overlooked Gem LPOD image.

Named for Andre Lallemand (1904-1978), a French astronomer noted for his work in the application of photomultipliers to astronomical research.
According to Whitaker (p. 236), this name was introduced in NASA RP-1097 (a non-IAU publication). It was approved "as assigned" in IAU Transactions XIXB (1985). When and by whom it was called Kopff A is unclear.
