Description
Elger
(IAU Directions) WEIGEL.--A not very conspicuous ring-plain on the S. of Schiller, with a crater on its N.E. rim, and a larger ring adjoining it on the S.W. A prominent curved mountain arm from the W. wall of Schiller runs towards the N. side of this formation.

Nomenclature
- Named for Erhard Weigel (1625-1699), a German mathematician. Weigel taught Jena University, and among his students were Eimmart and Leibnitz.
