Apollo 15's oblique south-looking Fairchild camera photograph AS15-M-2567 shows Lacus Lenitatis rightward of centre. The eastern half of the pronounced crater Manilius is noticeable at the frame's upper margin.

Rather inconspicuous looking low-albedo region between the distinct crater Manilius (to the west) and Lacus Hiemalis (to the east-northeast).
