- Lunar Orbiter 4's northpole view L.O.IV-92-Medium should show Yablochkov south-southeast of Schwarzschild. Unfortunately there's no High-Resolution scan of this frame available in the LPI's Lunar Orbiter Photo Gallery (summer 2015).
- Is Yablochkov the most northern officially named lunar surface formation captured on Apollo photographs? It could be. Apollo 16's Fairchild-camera photograph AS16-M-3021 (which was made during Trans Earth Coast - TEC) might show Yablochkov very near the limb at lower right.
