The name had been considered, but was rejected, during the initial naming of lunar farside features because of its similarity to "Bohr" (IAU Transactions XVA, Menzel, 1971. However, the IAU soon changed its mind and added Born to a name-bank (for future use) in IAU Transactions XVIB.
