  • The shadow in LO-IV-073H indicates the height of the east wall varies from about 2,150 to 3,100 m above the floor (increasing to the north).
  • Gardner is on the north edge of an elevated area informally known as the "Gardner megadome".


Nomenclature

  • Irvine Clifton; American physicist (1889-1972).
  • This replacement name for a formerly lettered crater was introduced on LTO-43D4. - Jim Mosher
  • Dale A. Gardner (1948-2014, NASA Space Shuttle astronaut).
