Description
Originally established in 1961 as the Manned Spacecraft Center, NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, has served as the headquarters for American efforts directed towards manned exploration of space, including the Apollo Moon program. The original photographs returned by that project are archived there, and it continues to be the main center for study of the Apollo lunar samples (Moon rocks).
