Nomenclature

  • Giovanni Valentino Mattia Fabbroni (February 13, 1752 – December 17, 1822) was an Italian economist, chemist, and naturalist. In 1775 he collaborated in the establishment of the Museum of Natural History and Physics in Florence. A man of wide-ranging interests, he worked in the natural sciences, political economy, chemistry, and agronomy. A supporter of the chemical revolution of Antoine-Laurent Lavoisier, he also conducted important electrochemical research, setting the stage for a favorable reception of Alessandro Volta's battery.
