Nomenclature
- Alfred Lothar Wegener (November 1, 1880 – November 2 or 3, 1930) was a German interdisciplinary scientist, geophysicist and meteorologist, who became famous for his theory of continental drift.
- Alfred Wegener seems to have been a dedicated observer of the sky and related optical effects, because there's a rather rare atmospheric halo-phenomenon which is called the Wegener Arcs. Source: Atmospheric Halos by Walter Tape (1994). - DannyCaes DannyCaes Dec 12, 2010
