Additional Information

  • IAU page: Ley
  • The large amount of deposits predominantly covering the south-western floor of Ley is believed to be that of its own rim material having been dynamically shifted, or blasted off, by the nearby impact event of crater [/Von%20Neumann Von Neumann] to its southwest. This 'clump' of material must also include deposits from Von Neumann itself, and the whole mix must be a geologist's dream. - JohnMoore2 JohnMoore2

Willy Ley in the Sourcebook Project (William R. Corliss)

- In Lightning, Auroras, Nocturnal Lights, and related luminous phenomena (1982) :
  • GLB1-R27: On Earth and in the Sky (Willy Ley, Ace Books, New York, 1957). Note: this (very interesting) sourcebook's chapter (GLB1) is a cornucopia of reports of "ordinary" Ball-Lightning (quite strange apparitions of glowing and exploding orbs of light). Willy Ley must have been an aficionado of Ball-Lightning related phenomena. - DannyCaes DannyCaes Apr 8, 2015
