Additional Information
- Surrounded by dark ring (impact melt like Tycho) most evident to NE, width 0.7 crater diameter. [Kirata et al LPSC 30: 1350]
- Central peak composition: GNTA1, GNTA2 & AT (Tompkins & Pieters, 1999)
- TSI = 25, CPI = 15, FI = 20; MI =60 Smith and Hartnell, 1973
- There are many arc-shaped crevasses on the floor of Crookes (see the LROC's Hi-Res NAC images).
- A possible chain of depressions is noticeable at crater Crookes X (north-northwest of Crookes itself). An interesting orbital photograph of this possible chain is AS8-17-2673, made during the mission of Apollo 8.- DannyCaes May 16, 2010
