- It should be noted that almost the entire crater called Pikel'ner is located at LAC 130 instead of LAC 117. So it shows on pages 260 and 261 of B.Bussey's and P.Spudis's Clementine Atlas. The crater called Pikel'ner Y (partially overlapped by Pikel'ner's northern part) is located at LAC 117.

- The crater named Pikel'ner K was replaced with the name Hildegard K by the IAU on 25 Feb 2016.
Nomenclature
Solomon Borisovich Pikel'ner (February 6, 1921 - November 19, 1975) was a Russian astronomer who had made a significant contribution to the theory of the interstellar medium, solar plasma physics, stellar atmospheres, and magnetohydrodynamics. He was professor of astronomy at Moscow State University since 1959.
