- Henry Gwyn Jeffreys Moseley (November 23, 1887 – August 10, 1915) was an English physicist. His main contributions to science were the quantitative justification of the previously empirical concept of atomic number, in Moseley's law. This law advanced chemistry by immediately sorting the elements of the periodic table in correct order.
- Name given by Arthur and Whitaker in Rectified Lunar Atlas (1963) and approved by IAU in 1964 (Whitaker, 1999, p234).
- Perhaps it's interesting to know that there was (or perhaps still is) a certain T. J. C. A. Moseley, who, together with Patrick Moore and other dedicated British observers of the moon, observed rare reddish colorations (TLP) which appeared on the floor of Gassendi.
