AS12-46-6841 is a remarkable example of the lunar "Heiligenschein" (Retro-Reflection) on the floor of Middle Crescent. The haze-like smudge in the centre of the photograph is due to dust on the Hasselblad-camera's lens. Note the long shadows of astronauts Pete Conrad and Alan Bean. - DannyCaes Jan 31, 2008
This photograph is part of a panoramic view (AS12-46-6836 to AS12-46-6844).
Astronaut-named feature, Apollo 12 site.
According to the explanation of the name in IAU Transactions XVIB, the rim of Middle Crescent was the farthest stop from the Lunar Module on the first EVA.
