A wonderful telescopic photograph which was made by the dedicated lunar observer Bob Pilz shows Kathleen in the very centre of it. The somewhat curved chain of mountains (running diagonally over the lower left part of the photograph) is Montes Apenninus. North is to the right. Research: Danny Caes

Bibliography

Perhaps interesting to know that there was once a lady known as Kathleen Auvil (of Montrose, Randolph County, West Virginia) who detected some sort of pseudo-meteorite and submitted it to Frank C. Cross (see his article Hypothetical Meteorites of Sedimentary Origin, Popular Astronomy, 1947) (and page 305 in: Mysterious Universe, a handbook of astronomical anomalies, William R. Corliss, The Sourcebook Project, 1979).
