Description

This small book is the catalog accompanying an exhibit that tells the story of man's evolving understanding of the nature of the lunar surface through 45 images published between 1610 and 1978. Its entire contents are freely available on-line.

Additional Information

  • Not to be confused with The Face of the Moon, a revolutionary 1949 interpretation of the lunar surface by Ralph Baldwin.
  • The exhibit was hosted by the Linda Hall Library in Kansas City, one of the major collections in the United States dealing with the history of science, engineering and technology.
