Nomenclature

Ernst Emil Alexander; German physicist (1881-1959).
  • This replacement name for a formerly lettered crater was provisionally introduced on LTO-63C4 (December 1973). It was approved by the IAU "as assigned" in 1976 (IAU Transactions XVIB). Two other provisional names on the same map (named for literary authors) were rejected. - JimMosher JimMosher
