Tholus (small domical mountain or hill)
(glossary entry; plural Tholi)Description
A Latin suffix theoretically available for use in forming IAU-approved names for lunar features.
Additional Information
- According to IAU Transactions XVIB (p. 330, Items 5 & 6), this name can be considered for use on a case-by-case basis.
- In practice it has never been used on the Moon (a possible candidate could be Mairan T, the curious small dome with craterpit on top, west of Mairan itself, southwest of Sinus Iridum).
